LightBurn Setup for 8D Creations Jigs

8D Creations jigs are meant to pair with a LightBurn layout so each blank slot lines up with your art. Templates are sent by email — not auto-downloaded from the product page.

Request your template

  1. Order (or plan to order) the jig you need
  2. Email trevor@8dcreations.com
  3. Include: which product (e.g. 12-slot keychain 6×2), your order number if you have one, and laser type if relevant (diode / CO₂ / galvo)

Basic LightBurn workflow

  1. Open the template file Trevor sends in LightBurn
  2. Place your design inside each slot guide (or duplicate one design across slots)
  3. Keep slot guides on a non-output / tool layer if that’s how the file is set up — don’t engrave the guide lines onto the blanks unless you intend to
  4. Set your machine origin / job origin the same way every time relative to the jig (same corner of the tray)
  5. Frame the job with the jig on the bed before you burn

Placement tips

  • Seat blanks fully before framing
  • Don’t shift the jig between framing and starting the job
  • If one slot is off, check blank seating first — then template alignment

Settings

Power, speed, and interval depend on your laser, lens, and the specific leatherette. 8D Creations does not publish a single “works for everyone” setting. Use a test blank, then lock your material library entry for that stock.
